Building Character with Characters: Teaching SEL through Literature

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is a key component to achievement, engagement, and motivation for students, especially in today’s educational climate. However, due to lack of time and other resources educators may find it difficult to meet content standards, literacy standards, and SEL standards while trying to navigate new technology and adjust to new safety guidelines due to the pandemic.

Building Character through Characters: Teaching SEL Through Literature is designed to give educators practical strategies they may use to implement SEL while improving critical thinking, comprehension, character analysis and other important components of literacy.

This self-paced online workshop will be engaging, interactive, empowering, and enlightening. Participants will leave with useful strategies that are simple and effective so that their students may improve literacy and SEL skills simultaneously during times they need the support most.
