Bigger, Better Writing: Scoring the New HSE Essay Tests

No matter which of the new HSE Tests your students take, we have a writing sample for you!

Bring your device to this session to access free rubrics to help your GED, TASC, or HiSET preparation students improve their writing skills and scores. Delve into the details of the HSE exam rubrics to plan how to provide feedback and targeted instruction for your learners. Participants will break into small groups to practice using a rubric to grade writing samples. Workshop attendees will leave with useful strategies and free teaching tools, along with access to an online course with the links in one convenient place.

Presenter:  Meagen Farrell is an author, trainer, and educator based in Northeast Ohio. She currently serves as Chief Learning Officer of Mustard Seed Training. Before transitioning to religious education, she served as National Teacher Trainer for Essential Education and CEO of Farrell Ink, helping adult educators find a balance between face-to-face and digital instruction. She has a BA in Religion from Oberlin College, Certificate in Distance Education from Penn State University, and MA in Theology and Religious Studies from John Carroll University. When not providing training, she can be found biking, chasing chickens, or at her local public library with her family.
