DESCRIPTION
The GED Classroom is a friendly, flexible, understanding setting where students can develop their skills and strengthen their self-esteem. Strict attendance, promptness, doctors’ excuses or working well with others are often not required in GED programs. However, since most students want to improve their career situation, shouldn’t instructors do more to prepare and motivate their students for the expectations, soft skills, and teamwork of the workplace? The workshop will give participants a clear understanding of current workplace expectations and activities that will create a more job-ready student. Participants will leave with resources and ideas they can implement right away.
Target audience for this workshop is instructors, tutors, and administrators of adult education, ESOL, and job readiness programs.
