The home visitation services model, also described in this issue, shows such positive results that it is included in the recent Healthcare Legislation (Patient, Protection and Affordable Care Act). A provision of the Act calls for $1.5 billion in mandatory funding over 5 years for home visitation services.

Learning English as a Family (LEAF), a successful collaboration between the Cleveland Clinic and Shaker Family Connections incorporates both family learning and the home visitation model.

We have so many resources for families, one of which is our nationally acclaimed county library system. Our Literacy Spotlight features Sari Feldman, executive director of the Cuyahoga County Library System. The library offers something for every member of the family.
